Firstly it is always best to start a seed off in a plant pot with a mixture of compost and soil. Or if you are planting edible food seeds like carrots then turn over some soil adding compost too it in the garden. Use you finger to make a whole and drop the seed in, cover with soil and tamp down lightly. Add water, this is the same for the plant pot.
If you later want to transfer the potted plant to the Garden you will need a Trowel. Dig out a whole sligthly larger than the plant pot, then supporting the soil and plant turn the pot upside down and tap it gently to free the plant. Once free place the plant into the hole and cover with generous amounts of compost and pat down lightly and water.
to help seeds grow and the equipment you need is very little. Your Finger or a rod, a trowel a watering can or hose your care and attention.
