it can fly because the fire that comes out of the back of the rocket is its thrust.So when the fire comes out the back it causes the rocket to thrust forward.Remember the fire comes out with a lot of force thats why the rocket is able to fly because of the thrust. The body of the rocket is a device that can stay in space and float in there which allows the rocket to stay in space. The fire thrusts the rocket up but only to get out of earths atmosphere because earth has gravity space doesn't. In space the rocket does the rest of the work which is floating in a place without gravity. hope this helped!
It doesn't, the shuttle with the crew in it glides back to earth, hence needing a long runway to come to a stop. If 'a' rocket was landing on earth... Crash or use a parachute to slow it down
Rockets go up because of Newton's Third Law of motion, which states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Essentially, as the rocket pushes down on the rocket exhaust, the exhaust pushes back on the rocket with the same amount of force, in the opposite direction. This force is what lifts up the rocket.
On earth, the forces acting on any object is gravity. Since there is an equal and opposite reaction to any force, the earth pushes back on the object. This is called the normal force.
Rockets ignite propellants to produce thrust. Thrust is the physical force generated by the rocket's engines burning fuel and is required to overcome the effect of gravity. When designing rockets, engineers determine the mass of the rocket to determine how much force gravity exerts on it. Then, the thrust force generated by the rapidly burning propellant must accelerate the rocket to escape velocity (where thrust is greater than gravitational pull on the mass of the rocket)

Its called Newton's Third Law. "When object A exerts a force on object B , then object B will exert an equal but opposite force back on A". When a rocket spews out hot gasses it's effectively exerting a force on the gasses. So the gasses exert the same force back on the rocket. The gasses accelerate one way and the rocket accelerates the other way. When Goddard first started experimenting with rockets some newspapers laughed at him because they thought the rocket would not be able to keep going once it got too far from the earth. But Goddard undestood Neton's Third law and knew the earth didn't have to be there for it to work.
Due to the higher gravity amount, a rocket will be pulled back when leaving earth, and pulled forward when going to earth.

Newton's third law of motion is in effect here. The liquid or gas rushing out the back is an action force. The rocket propelling up is a reaction force.
It will get out of Earth's gravitational pull and can no longer be forced back towards Earth.
