The "final solution" referred specifically to the "Jewish problem." However, the Roma (gypsies) were treated similarly. Other groups targeted, if less systematically, include Poles, Slavs, blacks, Asians, homosexuals, the disabled, and to a large extent anyone else who wasn't of "pure" non-Jewish European descent. There were a few exceptions: Croats and Slovaks were not targeted despite being Slavs, and Japanese weren't persecuted either. This is largely because they were from countries allied with Germany. A few groups were targeted on political grounds: communists, Freemasons, and Jehovah's Witnesses (the latter because they were one of the few religious groups to be uniformly and steadfastly opposed to National Socialism).
