Bruno wanted to know what things were like on schmuel side of the fence so shmuel brought bruno some striped pijamas to change into. Bruno then changed and crept under the fence. Bruno realized that things were not so fun on that side of the fence. After a while things got very crowded and every one including the two friends got crammed into a gas chamber and get gassed.

∙ 14y agoBruno does die in the book, "The Boy In The Striped Pajamas".
In the movie, he dies, and it explains it more with a visual.
In the book (page 213), it says, "Shmuel may well have opened his mouth to say something back, but Bruno never heard it because at that moment there was a loud gasp as the door at the front was suddenly closed and a loud metallic sound rang through from the outside."
That was the gas chambers and the soldiers closing the doors.

∙ 10y agoBruno accepts Shmuels call for help to locate his father. Bruno, not knowing the worse that could happen asks Shmuel to go get him a set of "pajamas".
Shmuel does, and Bruno digs a whole under the fence, he knows electricity is running through it. He crawls under the fence, and goes with Shmuel looking for his father.
A Nazi comes to the bunkers Bruno and Shmuel are in, and tells them to start marching. Bruno and Shmuel have no clue where they are going. They reach a building, and they are told to take their shirts off, and walk into another part of the building, and are given towels, and are told that they are going to take a "shower". (Back then, their.. I guess.. code-name for Gas Chamber, was shower.)
They are stuffed into the "shower", and the door is shut, and lights are turned off. A shoot opens, and a gas mask is looking down into the shoot. Zyklon B (gas form of cyanide pill), is dumped into the Gas Chamber, and you hear thumping's on the door.
Bruno's father, a Nazi Commander orders men to move out of the way as he darts towards the Gas Chamber, after having been worried of him not being home. His mother and sister Gretel go home to Berlin where brunos sister starts to cry even if she is a Hopeless Case.

∙ 12y agoBruno pretends to be a Jew after he realized that treating the Jews as the enemy is wrong. The reason he disguises himself is to prove that if a Nazi can mistake another Nazi as a Jew they will be equal. At the end Gretel follows Bruno into the camp and is gassed along with Bruno! $:-)
