I Have an NYMT audition next week, but my friend has already prepped me up on the process. You attend an all day workshop where it is split into three parts. There will be a dance audition where you will learn a dance from one of the shows, a singing audition where you sing a prepeared musical theatre song and an acting one where tou look at some text from one of the shows! Hope I helped
Without music, musical theatre would be just theatre. Music is the focal point of a story that includes music which is produced in a theatre. This means that not only must the actors be able to act, but to sing. These performances also require an orchestra. Finally, the composers who write the music and lyrics for a musical theatre production are telling a story, and they craft their sequence of musical numbers to help move the story along.
complicite intergrate music, image and text to form visually stunning theatre.
Theatre is a place to go to be entertained. It can be a play, either comedy, drama or musical. Theatre can also refer to a movie theatre (another place to be entertained). Theatre can also be any form of outdoor entertainment such as festivals, music concerts or street corner players.

There is no music theatre without music hence the name MUSIC Theatre without music it is merely theatre or drama.
I think it means an audition open to everyone. An audition is a tryout for something, usually music.

Well first of all, find a Stage Coach or singing teacher that you can see often (once a week is best). It doesn't matter if it is a group or private, if they do show music or musical theatre, this is a good start. Then, try out a few musical theatre exams, and enter a festival under the show songs category and competitions. These will build you confidence, and give you scope to what other people think of you performing. Audition for shows (AUDITION AUDITION AUDITION, MORE AUDITIONS!) and try out anything, even pantomime! DO what even you can to gain a portfolio and expierence. After a while, if you think you are good enough and you love it more than anything, get an agent, and they will do what they can to get you roles in musical theatre.
You will need a manager to set you up an probably audition for one.
of course playing in audition is much harder than in a band. because in audition you do not get any rhythm or something and their is no one to cover your mistakes
Go audition.
