Make friends! You can never make friends if you don't try. Start with a smile and introduction.

A personal note:

The above answer is very good advice. Many students who do not have friends in high school could have lots of friends if they took that advice. If you are shy or scared of being rejected, start with someone who has been friendly to you or someone who doesn't appear to have many (or any) friends, either.

You could also examine yourself and the way you come across to others. When I was in high school, I had a couple of friends and no others. I was shy and lacked confidence. It was after I was well into my adult years that I understood I did not have friends because of that. My own mother commented that I was stuck up in high school. If she viewed me that way, I'm sure others did, too. You may not have the same issues I did, but finding what the reason is for lack of friends now is a lot better than looking back in years to come and knowing it could have been a lot different for you.

I was also hung up on not being popular and wanted very much to be in the "in" crowd. Needless to say, I never "made it," but I realize now that neither is what they are made out to be. If I had not been hung up on that, I would have realized (as I do now) that many would have been friends with me if I had only accepted their friendship.

Perhaps the reasons you do not have friends are not the same as mine, but finding out what they are means you can do something about it now and start making friends. Even if the reasons are not something you are or are not doing, knowing what the reasons are can help you to overcome them.
