It is not a weakness to admit that you have failed at something in your life. Employers want to know how you have bounced backed from those failures and what you have learned from those experiences. It is best to stick to examples that are job related instead of personal experiences.
I make many mistakes everyday and i learn from each mistake therein turning my mistakes into opportunities to succeed. The sum of these opportunities is the success of my life. The only failure would be to give up and i haven't done that nor is it part of my plan. However a mistake i made coming here today was taking the wrong offramp. From this i learned that leaving home a half hour early to get here is ample time to arrive on time should mis-hap occur. I also learned that there is a parking garage around the back i didn't know of before. Amongst other things.

When I failed to meet with deadlines at that time I embarrassed to disclose but it was my first job and first assignment. From that I learned much experience and this has improved my ability to deliver. Then I understood the deadlines embarrassment and then onwards I have never missed any deadlines.

well first of all 'you' can't really make him tell you, and what ever you do, next time ask him yourself, because when a friend asks a person if they like 'you' they will never tell the truth, I've learned from experience.
