Many people would think that the human activity takes up the most water in the U.S is showering and cooking. In reality the activity that takes up the most water is industry.Ê

The following human activities affect water: 1. Urban and Industrial Development: chemicals used in pharmaceutical drugs, dry-cleaning, fossil fuel mixes easily in water and a…ffects water. The use of these chemicals increases as a result of industrialisation an urbanization. 2 Farming: nitrogen and phosporous fertilizers are used as plant nutrients to grow more crops. These plant nutrients are easily dissolved into water and drains with rainwater and snowmelt runoff to affect water streams,ponds etc. 3. Mining: mining activities also affect water. 4. Combustion of fossil fuel affects water, 5. Stream-channel alteration also affects water 6. Animal-feeding operation also a cause of water contamination. other human activitie affecting water are land use,aerosols,irrigation etc.

Human boldly waste can contaminate water especially if the concentration of humans in any given are is high. In these circumstance humans have to construct sewage farms to mak…e sure the natural environment is not polluted. Human industry (e.g. mining, and manufacturing and even farming) frequently uses copious amounts of water which at the end of the process is contaminated be industrial waste. If left untreated this effluent will contaminate the natural water supply. ALL pollution is down to humans - there are too many of us!
