The Bible Code is a belief that secret messages are contained in the Bible. These secret codes are found by taking letters of the text at certain intervals. For example, finding word patters by reading every 5th letter of the Bible.

Yes, they are. I know this because I was attempting to do a search for al-qaida, (as it was first spelled in the press), since it was not a pre-existing word in the softwares' dictionary. That meant that I had to use the phonetics key symbol over the Hebrew characters to try and recreate the word. When the search ended, I expected to see the word, "al-qaida" in my "searched for" box. I didn't. My word search returned a number as my result. The number was 666 found in more than one book. I sent these results to the White House, afterward the spelling became al-qaeda.

Secondly, the only true way to test the codes would be to find another book of Hebrew and run searches. They both MUST be based on the same type of alphabetical system. I have some truly astonishing codes.

In my studies, I have not come across a specific or universal code to be used when it comes to Biblical prophecy. There are many prophecies in the Bible that are considered to have a "duel fulfillment". That means that many of the prophecies had a minor fulfillment already, but will have a much greater fulfillment in the future. This concept is especially true for Christians, because there are many passages in the New Testament that are quoting prophecies from the Old Testament that had already had a minor fulfillment but were quoted as having another future application. The duality of prophecy is considered a main stay for a lot Christian beliefs and hopes for the future.

You could consider it a code to take a day for a year in some Biblical prophecies. So a week would be 7 years instead of 7 days. For instance, Daniel 9:24-27 talks about 70 weeks in a prophecy about the messiah. It mentions that in the middle of the 70th week that the messiah will cause sacrifices and gifts offerings to cease. If you add them up, the time period indicated that the 70 weeks would start (about 455 BCE when the word to restore Jerusalem was given) to the end was at about 36 CE, or 490 years. Which just so happened was 3.5 years after Jesus was sacrificed and thus ended the need for animal sacrifices.
