The half life of dilaudid is approximately 2.3 hours. Let's create a chart
T(time passed since drug has been taken) and (D) for amount of drug in system at that given time.
T. D
2.3. 4
4.6. 2
6.9. 1
9.2. .5
11.5. .25
13.8. .125
16.1. .01625 (at this point undetectable on standard/extended urine screens). So as you can see after about 16 hours the drug is pretty much out of your system. Now you have to factor in how it was administered. If it is IV or snorted than this formula will be very accurate, if it was orally, in general as with all drugs, factor in more time to be safe, as oral administration of drugs results in longer detection times.
Dilaudid (hydromorphone) is a powerful analgesic opioid, deriving from morphine, but almost 10x the potency. The length of time it can be detected in one's body is dependent on several factors. Perhaps the three variables that play the largest roles are the route of administration (Oral, IV, etc.), frequency/amount of use, and, last but not least, the detection method used (urine, blood, etc.). Other factors include dietary habits, metabolism, H2O consumption, PH levels in the body, and many more that also depend on the detection method. ON AVERAGE: One x Intravenous use of 4mg of Hydromorphone Blood: Less Than 24 hours Urine: 24 to 48 hours Daily Use: add up to 30hrs One x Oral or Insulfation (snorting) use of 4mg of Hydromorphone Blood: 12 to 36 hours Urine: 24 to 48 Daily Use: add up to 30hrs
Assuming what is meant is the narcotic synthetic opiod 'dilaudid' commonly known on the street by many other names, the drug stays in one's system an average of 72 hours before a urine test can be safely taken without traces of it in the system. The effects, however, of a single use of dilaudid, can diminish over a period of 6-12 hours before another dose is needed if taken for pain for example. The full information on dilaudid can be found in any Physician's Desk Reference which can be read in any library. Information is also available in many books on precription drugs sold in bookstores everywhere. Usually pharmacies will answer general questions on drugs and their interactions as well. Also sites on the internet that inform on addiction would have extensive knowledge on dilaudid as part of the synthetic opiate family and as one preferred by junkies who take dilaudid when heroin is not available or who have switched to dilaudid because it is a 'cleaner' drug and the dosage can be monitored more easily. Hope this helps somewhat..generally though, to get dilaudid out of the system sooner is difficult, but if one drinks a lot of water, the system can be flushed of toxins a little quicker. 72 hours is a guideline only..many variables such as metabolism, etc., play into matters, but it is a central nervous system water soluable drug, excreted primarily through urine. AS mentioned the Physicians Desk Reference or each country's equivilent of same (I am giving Canadian names) is an invaluable asset when researching drugs and how long they stay in system, side effects, adverse reactions, contraindications, etc., etc.
3 to 4 days. 5 if you have a slower metabolism.
