Ephesians 2:1-5 says: 1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. and from what it says, and what i have been taught about this it is referring to something mentioned all throughout the New Testament, and predicted throughout the Old; that God loves us so much, and He has such great mercy on us that He would even give His only Son to die for us to take us out of that 'dead to transgression' stage, and allow us to be 'alive in Christ' as it says. (also, see John 3:16, and continue from this passage to Eph. 2:8 )

In Ephesians 2:4, it talks about God's mercy and love for us. It highlights how God, who is rich in mercy, offers us salvation and forgives us despite our sins. This verse serves as a reminder of God's grace and compassion towards us.

Ephesians 2:2-10 (King James Version)

2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

The general gist of these verses is before Jesus Christ we all walked in the ways of the world. In sin we all lived until God sent Jesus to save us from ourselves. By grace we are saved, not of our own works 'lest any man should boast', but we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works...

What is the greek interpretion of the word know used in Ephesians chaper 1?

In the Greek text of Ephesians chapter 1, the word "know" is translated from the Greek word "Ξ³ΞΉΞ½ΟŽΟƒΞΊΟ‰" (ginosko), which means to perceive, understand, or have knowledge of something in an experiential or relational sense. This suggests a deeper level of knowing beyond just intellectual understanding, involving personal connection or recognition.

Who are the witnesses of Jesus in John 5 31-47?

Jesus speaks of several witnesses in the passage in question: 1) John the Baptist (v.33, 35) 2) His own miracles ("works") (v.36) 3) The Father Himself, speaking through the Old Testament scriptures (vs. 37-39) 4) Moses (vs. 45-47)

Who wrote the book of Philippians?

Paul includes the name of Timotheus (Timothy) with his own at the beginning of the letter."Practically no-one, ancient or modern, has questioned the authenticity of Colossians or its Pauline authorship." The New Defender's Study Bible (Nashville, World Publishing 2006) page 1829 notes by the late Dr Henry M Morris, PhD., LL.D., Litt.D.The reasons for this are relatively simple in that Paul identifies himself as the author in both the opening and closing verses of the book. Deliberate fabrication was not tolerated in the early church and there is a record of an officer being dismissed for adding an apostle to a document he wrote to give it authority. New Testament writings were simply not accepted unless it was known who wrote them. This is one reason why a number were late in being included into the canon. Colossians 1:1-2 (King James Version)1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,2To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The opening verse indicates that Timothy co-authored the letter with Paul.

The widow in the book of Luke how many coins did she put in the temple treasury?

Two coins of the lowest denomination possible, equivalent to about a farthing combined:-Luk 21:1-4 KJV And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. [v. 2] And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. [v. 3] And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: [v. 4] For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.The parallel verses in Matthew 12:41-44 also says two coins, and that they both made a farthing:-Mar 12:41-44 KJV And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. [v. 42] And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. [v. 43] And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: [v. 44] For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

Where is Lot's wife?

Two daughters, who along with Lot, survived the destruction of the town.AnswerAs the above Answer states, there were at least 2, but the exact number and sex can be known exactly.Lot was a righteous man:-2Pet 2 (v.7) and if He [ithat is, God] rescued righteous Lot, distressed by the unrestrained behavior of the immoralHe was greatly worried by the behaviour of his fellow inhabitant of Sodom:-2Pet 2 (v.8) (for as he lived among them, that righteous man [that is, Lot] tormented himself day by day with the lawless deeds he saw and heard) -And if Lot was worried, it follows that his uncle Abraham was also greatly worried about his nephew Lot and his family who were living in this city. So, when the LORD told Abraham He was going to destroy Sodom and all it's inhabitants, Abraham would immediately have thought of Lot and his family :-Gen 18 (v.23) Abraham stepped forward and said, "Will You really sweep away the righteous with the wicked? The LORD then said if there were 50 righteous people there He wouldn't destroy it:-Gen 18 (v.24) What if there are 50 righteous people in the city? Will You really sweep it away instead of sparing the place for the sake of the 50 righteous [that is, Lot and other righteous] people who are in it? Gen 18 (v.23) Abraham stepped forward and said, "Will You really sweep away the righteous[that is, Lot ] with the wicked? ..... ...Gen 18 (v.26) The LORD said, "If I find 50 righteous people in the city of Sodom, I will spare the whole place for their sake."Abraham then bargained God down from 50 down to 10 righteous people:-Gen 18 (v.32) Then he said, "Let the Lord not be angry, and I will speak one more time. Suppose 10 are found there? " He[that is, the LORD] answered, "I will not destroy it on account of 10." Gen 18 (v.33) When the LORD had finished speaking with Abraham, He departed, and Abraham returned to his place.Because Abraham stopped at '10', not 4 or 8 or whatever, this means that Abraham knew Lot would now be safe, so there were no more than 10 people in Lot's family.Genesis 19 shows Lot's known family:-. Gen 19 (v.12) And the men [ie angels] said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: Gen 19 (v.13) For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it. Gen 19 (v.14) And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law[plural,so there were at least 2], which married his daughters, [plural,so there were at least 2] , and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law. Gen 19 (v.15) And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.Lot's family therefore consisted of:-1 - Lot1 - His wife ( who was turned into pillar of salt)2 - sons-in-law (Gen 19 v.14) ie plural - [this means he had at least 2 married daughters]2 - married daughters2 unmarried daughters (Gen 19 v.15) -1 became mother of Moabites-1 became mother of Ammonites 2 sons (Gen 19v.12) ie plural so at least 2Total: 10This brings a Total of 10 known members in Lot's family, and since there can't be more than 10, this means that Lot's wife had 6 children (4 daughters [2 Married and 2 single] and 2 sons)
