Because of its volcanoes and glaciers, Iceland is known as the Land of Fire and Ice. Natural wonders such as The Blue Lagoon and Dettifoss Waterfall abound. Iceland is also known for its rich cultural heritage, Norse mythology, and folklore. Horse riding in Iceland is always an unique experience as the Icelandic horses are famous for having an extra gait and being smaller than horses elsewhere. Seeing the Northern Lights is on the bucket list of many people and Iceland is an excellent location which makes dream in reality. I had visited this places with a tour guide Discover Iceland and it’s a mind blowing place.

Iceland is probably most well known for its volcanoes, in particular Eyjafjallajokull, or 'Big E', which was the volcano which sent the huge ash cloud into Europe, delaying the majority of plane flights in Western Europe.

Either that or Eiður Guðjohnsen, the Icelandic football player who is well known for playing for Bolton, Chelsea and Barcelona.
