It refers to crime where the weapon involved happens to be a knife. This includes robbery, aggravated assault (or assault with a deadly weapon), malicious wounding, rape (if used to menace) and of course murder. The term is more or less a parallel of "gun crime." While gun crime has a greater focus in places such as the USA, knife crime is of greater focus in places like the UK due to the nation's heavy restrictions guns in general. Knife crime simply swells to fill the space left by guns, so to speak.

Fact 1: Knife crime always involves a knife of some kind.

Fact 2: People usually commit knife crimes because they don't have access to better weapons or don't want to use better weapons like guns.

Fact 3: Knife crimes are usually only committed by humans.

Fact 4: In some countries carrying a knife in public is illegal, but in other's you can carry a knife that has a blade under a certain length.

Fact 5: Police can usually tell a victim of knife crime in terms of an altercation by "defensive wounds" on the hands of the victim and the lack thereof on the offender.

"Knife crime" is something of a political buzz-word wherein a set of crimes is categorized by the weapon that was involved, rather than other factors such as the type of offense (murder, robbery, menacing). It is not terribly efficient nor effective to categorize crime as this, because calling it "knife crime" simply demonizes an inanimate object with utilitarian uses dating back to the dawn of humanity, rather than the perpetrators and causes of violence itself. Violence has complex and almost unknowable causes that are still being studied today, and attributing it to an object is over-simplified.

Simply put, knife crime happens because there are people inclined to acts of violence and criminality that also happened to have a knife available to use for this purpose. Absent a knife, it would simply be some other object.

Hmm, any violence is strictly against the Christian belief. For it was written that We should love our enemies, and bless those who has cursed at us. Basically, we disagree with any violence. However, if we had to use violence (if it was the last step, that or death) we're allowed to. But, we Christians aren't afraid of dying because we know where we're going (heaven). :-)

Knife crime occurs just the same way gun crime occurs because that is the weapon that the criminal chose to use to commit the crime..Knives are more common among teenagers ages 14-19 because knives are more easily concealed and available to them in many state you only have to be 16 to purchase a knife.

In most states it is not illegal to carry a folding knife in your pocket provided it complies with the laws on length/type..so knives are a common weapon for crime...
