First of all, its called a "confirmat" screw", other names are cabinet connecting screw, joint screw, and to a lessor degree a furniture screw. They are designed for "ONLY" particle board, medium density fiberboard (MDF), and melamine board, they must use a pilot hole made by a (one or 2 piece) step drill. well most hex nuts a designed to fit a wrench size. depending on the application a cetain torque may be reguired...however usually hand tight plus 1/2 turns is fairANS 2 -It depends on what that nut is securing. In general usage, ( Not auto or aircraft) I go as hard as I can with a 6" wrench.
