What is a crowned road?
It's a road that's sort of humped in the middle to help rain water run off.

Answer . Because no road ever built is perfectly even for the purpose of water run off from rain. The vehicle is naturally going to attempt to pull to where it is being pulled to. Improperly inflated tires will add to this dilema. If your right tire has more air in it than the left, the car will …pull left because the left tire is softer than the right with more air in it. Causing the left tire to "grip" the road more. Improper alignment will also cause a car to pull one way or another. But improperly inflated tires are usually the number one suspect in a car pulling one way or another. (MORE)
That all depends. A crown is to replace the function of the tooth, given that it's normal anatomy and function has been compromised. Crowns on front teeth (centrals) are generally not a good idea unless there is not enough of the tooth left to support a veneer. Veneers are much less invasive. A… small (only micromillimeters) amount of the surface of the tooth is taken off, and then etched. A veneer is a 3/4 'cover' (think of acrylic nails) that is put on the front surface of the damaged tooth, and then 'light cured' to become permanent. It looks totally natural, and unlike a full crown, most of your natural tooth remains intact. . Crowns are usually necessary for molars and bi-cuspids-anywhere a strong chewing surface is necessary. Sometimes Bi-cuspids can function just fine with a tooth colored filling Just don't chew ice on it - I don't even think they do crowns on front teeth anymore, unless there has been a serious injury or accident to the front teeth. . Explore all options. Depends like I say, on what tooth it is, how much caries (decay) has destroyed the tooth, how many surfaces are involved (buccal, occlusal, Mesial, lingual or labial, or distal).. And, even if down the road the crowned tooth needs a root canal, it is possible to drill through the crown to do the root canal, and then when the root canal is finished, a small tooth colored filling can be placed in the hole (occlusal surface of the crown) that was made to gain access to the root canals (Pulp chamber(s).. Hope this helps!. TM. (MORE)

What can cause a crown Victoria to drift all over the road even though you have a front end alignment?
\n. \nAssuming the alignment shop was competent, the rear suspension may have problems. Without both front and rear suspensions mechanically sound, the car will wander. The 'outside chance' possibility is that you have bad tires.

1988 crown vic new heatercore new waterpump new thermostat and only get warm air for heat the blower cuts out when going down the road and heat goes from warm to cold while driving what should you che?
somthings cracked or not tight, worse case somone gave you a bad part. new isn't always new, also you might have an electrical problem which sucks. not to step on toes being I'm new to the forum but in reality if something was cracked or broken on a heating system you would be losing coolant som…ewhere visibly. common problem with the crown vic even up to newer models with the blower going out is the blower motor resistor. it's a little hard to diagnosis because the problem usually starts out intermittently. as for warm to cold on your heat... you should probably check your heater control valve also known as an air valve by some parts stores. During the summer months most folks forget to turn on their heaters once in a while and let the coolant circulate and clean out the debris (coolant sludge and rust). it gets pretty thick and will not allow the vent to reopen properly. it may start to open then when pressure builds up and the thermostat opens the sludge will close it up or clog the small gap that was allowing just enough coolant to warm your core up. Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne as emperor on Christmas Day, 800, in St. Peter's Basilica, Rome. He was given the title " Imperator Romanorum", or "Emperor of the Romans". Leo had been supported by Charlemagne in a power struggle in Rome, and was both honoring Charlemagne and simultaneously dis…crediting the legitimacy of Empress Irene of Constantinople by declaring him Emperor. Charlemagne's biographer claimed Charlemagne did not know Leo was going to bestow this title on him, but many historians are suspicious of this account. (MORE)

The Crown is an institution of the Commonwealth Realms (independent countries that used to form the British Empire and still share the same monarch) that exercises executive, legislative, and judicial authority throughout the Realms. As a legal concept, it is a corporation whose sole officer is the …Monarch of the Realms, currently Queen Elizabeth II. Authority only belongs to the Crown on behalf of a given jurisdiction. The Crown acting on behalf of a jurisdiction is termed the Crown in Right of that jurisdiction (e.g. the Crown in Right of the United Kingdom, the Crown in Right of New Zealand, or the Crown in Right of Queensland). The Crown in Right of a jurisdiction is controlled by the laws and institutions of that jurisdiction, and is legally distinct from the Crown in Right of any other. For example, the Crown in Right of Canada can make and execute laws in Canada, but only with the advice and consent of the Canadian Parliament and Privy Council, respectively, and subject to existing Canadian laws, including Canada's constitution. Since no Realm has jurisdiction over any other, this makes all the Realms independent. Government property is also owned by the Crown, but only in Right of a jurisdiction, and its use is subject to that jurisdiction's laws. The jurisdictions of the Crown include each of the Realms, as well as any subdivisions thereof that draw authority directly from the Crown, such as Canada's provinces, Australia's states, the United Kingdom's Crown Dependencies, etc... The relationships among a Realm and its subdivisions depend entirely on the constitutional structure of the Realm. Each jurisdiction, other than the United Kingdom proper, typically has an official who represents the Queen, termed Governor-General, Governor, Lieutenant-Governor, or simply Queen's Representative, whose role varies from place to place. Because the Realms are all legislatively independent, the law controlling succession to the throne must be amended separately in each. As the Crown is shared, the governments of the Realms must agree on any changes, and the changes have to be ratified by all the Realms' legislatures before they can come into effect. Each Realm can change its succession laws independently, but only if it first chooses to leave the shared Crown arrangement. (MORE)

The crown means the bow of the wood. We would like to think of our studs as being straight. Rafters and joists are laid with the bow up so gravity will work to make it straighter.
In the past, crowned roads were been the most common design. These roads had cross drainage culverts, ditches on the sides of the roadway, and water turnouts at intervals along the road. The roadbed cross-section normally sloped downward from a high point in the center to the shoulders. Subsurfac…e soil material like sand was often substituted for or combined with native material if clay, silt or organic material is present. Surfacing material like gravel or crushed stone was often added (as much as 18 inches high at the centerline of the road) for drainage, provide all-weather access and reduce maintenance. Traditionally crowned roads were built in all terrain and water conditions but are now recommended for areas between 0 and 3 percent slope but not where standing water is common. (MORE)
Alright... your interest in paving (and also grading, if you don'trealize it) is a bit curious to me, but, to the point.. Roads aren't laid flat. They might appear flat at a glance, butthey're not. A lot of factors go into engineering roadways, andthat also includes anticipated rainfall/storm surge …and drainage. Not laying these roads flat ensures that water runs off theroadways... if it didn't, then it could pool up on the roadways andmake them very dangerous to drive. So the idea of not laying a roadflat is to prevent things such as hydroplaning in the vehiclestraveling on them. So there'll be a high point in the roadway - that's called thecrown. Where it is, exactly, depends on the roadway itself, as wellas the factors which go into designing the roadway. Let's sayyou're driving on a roadway in a mountainous region... for the sakeof argument, we'll say it's a road which runs north-south. On thewest side of the roadway, you have high ground, while you'll havelower ground on the east side of the roadway. Well, knowing howgravity works, you'll know that the drainage is going to be to theeast side of the roadway, so that roadway will be graded so that itslopes downward towards the east side. The crown is going to be thehigh point on the west side of the roadway in this instance. Now, if you're traveling along a number of other roads... ruralroads on flat land, city/subdivision streets, et. al, you mightnotice storm drains or ditches on both sides of the roadway. Whatthis means is that drainage is diverted in both directions, so thecrown will be more towards the center of the roadway. The caveat tothis type of design being that that crown is going to be the weakpoint of the asphalt mat which is laid on it... if you go down aroad with an older asphalt mat, you might notice that crews willcome by and do crack seal - pouring tar into cracks which form inthe roadway. And you'll often see long lines of this crack sealantright smack in the center of it... that's because a crown set up inthis fashion is often the first point at which cracks will form inthe asphalt mat. A typical crown grade will be 2 - 3% - nothing very drastic.Setting up the roadway and crown (and grading out the quartercrown, as well) will be the job of dirt crews, rather than asphaltcrews. The dirt crews will start by cutting a rough grade in thevicinity of where the roadway will be. Then they'll take thetransit and shoot hubs.. the formula for this, I'm not going to getinto right now, because I could show you much easier than I couldexplain it here. So they'd shoot the hubs, tap them into the grownat the point where the dirt should be, and the graders will cutdown the dirt or fill it in and grade it to the top of those hubs, then the grader will cut the grade and ensure that the grade is theappropriate depth below the top of the curb face... so, if there'sfour inches of asphalt, the grade will be cut four inches below thetop of the curb face, and the blade will be angled at whatever thegrade of the crown is. The whole process of cutting a gradeinvolves both the blade hand (who runs the grader), and a laborerwho'll chase hubs.. they'll ensure each hub is uncovered, signal tothe blade hand how far down they need to cut (or how far up theyneed to fill), etc. They'll also probably have to do various othertasks at given times, such as running the sheep's foot or comboroller, maybe even running a scraper, etc. (MORE)
