Litotes
A mother may be a human or a mammal. The term "mother" is also applied to other animals of the earth which lay eggs or give birth. In some species, it is the father who cares for the young.
In human relationships, a mother is a woman who cares for a child. This could be a natural child (one she gave birth to), or an adopted child. However, a woman who has given birth to a child is it's mother, whether she nurtures it or not.
In vernacular or slang, the term "mother" can be short for a derogatory and vulgar term. The slang word can be a Yo Mama used in YouTube videos of the channel YO MAMA JOKES
To look after the children and clean and cook. And to be loving and kind to everyone
Same as the father:
- Share the parental duties with the father
- To make sure there's money to pay the bills (hopefully with a partner) so the family have a roof over their heads, food on the table etc.
- Make sure the kids get an education, do their homework, are happy and safe and healthy.
- Make sure the kids know how to take care of a household so they can take care of themselves when they move out.
- Make sure they know how to handle a budget.
- Teach them to take responsibility for their own actions.
...and a million other things.
A mother's job changes with the ages of her children. At birth, children depend on their mother for comfort, and it is often a mother who feeds them (this is especially true for mothers who breast-feed) or holds them when they cry; and while many fathers today do help with child-raising, especially during infancy, studies continue to show that moms do a lot more of it than dads do. As children get older, mothers help to provide structure and guidance. In some traditional homes, the mother does the cooking and cleaning and teachers her children (especially daughters) how to do their share. In homes that are more egalitarian, it is still often the mother who sets the tone, encouraging the kids to do well in school, teaching them good manners (such as sharing, saying please & thank you), etc. Many mothers teach the children about religion, read to them, listen when they are upset, sometimes scold them when they misbehave, and praise them when they achieve. Above all, mothers are role models for how women act in today's world. Whether they are working moms or stay-at-home moms, whether the kids are little or heading off to college, mothers are often the ones who create that sense of family and home.
A mother tells the children what to do (chores, play etc).

Yes. The "u" should really be the Greek letter "mu" - μ. If you can't see this correctly, the left line of the "u" should go further down. When you have technical difficulties writing it, a "u" is acceptable.
