A war-hero is told that he will become the King of Scotland by Witches. He later plots with his wife to kill the King and his sons so that he will become the king. However, the sons escape and later lead an attack to kill Macbeth and retake the throne. They succeed, Macbeth is killed, and the throne goes to Malcolm. In a nutshell, "guy wants to be king, guy kills king, guy goes crazy with guilt, king's son kills guy and becomes new king".
