synonym poems are usually broken up into couplets (poems with two sentences)
the first line gives synonyms for the topic, describes the topic, or give examples of the topics.
the second line expresses any further feelings about the topic.
the last word of the second and first line have to rhyme.
for example:
ANIMALS
Tigers, dogs, lion, mice.
All types of animals are nice!

Well, a sonnet is a poem of exactly 14 lines. There is no exact synonym, but I suppose "poem" comes closest. Sonnets are usually 3 quatrains and a couplet, but sometimes and octet plus a sestet. But that probably doesn't help with synonyms.
