First the question is unclear, since a "tic" is an involuntary facial movement, and a "tick" is a small parasite.
If you are asking about the latter, here is the scratch on your itch about ticks:
1. DO NOT grab them by the abdomen and pull, squeeze, or pinch them. This is bad because when a tick bites, they bury their mouthparts beneath the skin. If you squeeze them, their body becomes a syringe and you squeeze what's inside of them into you.
2. Matches, peanut butter, etc. may work now and then, but not reliably.
3. THE VERY BEST way to remove ticks is to use a tweezers and grasp them as close to the skin as you and and carefully pull them loose, clean the spot with alcohol, and then use an antibiotic.
4. In a pinch (so to speak), one can use a pocket knife and VERY CAREFULLY skim the blade across the surface of the skin and push the tick loose. Again, cleaning with alcohol and using an antibiotic.
5. Read up on ticks, methods of repelling or preventing them, and the symptoms of their bites. Ticks are carriers of human-transmissable diseases like Lyme disease and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, so examination by a physician might be be beneficial if odd symptoms develop, especially around the site of the bite. Deer ticks are especially small so when going into the forest, it's a good idea to have "tick inspection partners" so that when you get back to camp, you can look each other over carefully for the little buggers.
