There is not set age requirement. Through history, the famous leaders and generals achieved the rank in their early 20's. Napoleon Bonaparte was very young. Also officers progress up through the ranks faster during war. I worked with an officer who had remained a Lt-Colonel for 23 years. Mark Clark remained a Captain for almost that long prior to WW2 and then when the war began he rose from Colonel to 2-star general in a little over a year. So there are many factors that influence your promotion to general but age is not usually one of them.
