Any computer or electronic device that is used to serve up digital music through a network or over wireless to end devices or "clients" would be considered an Audio Server. In general terms this could be anything from a home stereo to a more complex home theater PC (HTPC), to the system of computers that would power a massive audio distribution company's online website - like the cluster of computers needed for Apple's iTunes store.
