More are being taken captive to reproduce and keep them safe from hunters looking to kill them for their skin.

Make it against the law to poach and cut down there habitat
I am not sure what country you are in but here in Australia they are far from endangered. I fact they are a pest species and a favourite for hunters. In Queensland (the state I live in) if you have them on your property and you do not take action to remove them you can be fined.
If you're asking someone to say what they as an individual can do, well there's not a whole lot I can do at the moment aside from try to avoid doing things to encourage deforestation, and not buy black market birds. If your asking in general what can be done: Most species of toucans are not actually on the endangered species list, but as with so many animals threats to their habitat (specifically deforestation) are a concern. To prevent more of them from becoming endangered their habitat should be protected, and over-hunting them should be prevented (they are sometimes hunted for food, and illegally taken from the wild as pets), and for those that are endangered breeding programs can help. Those things are easier said than done however.
dont hunt them and stay out of there habitat so they have as much room as possible
They are several national lawa being passed to protect them like the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna, which means that international trade of this species is prohibited! Loggerhead sea turtles are protected by a lot of different national laws! For more information, go to google and type in Office of Protected Resources...on their home page, it will have different species of turtles and click on loggerhead turtle!
