After a Preovulatory (or Graafian) Follice releases its oocyte, it is immediately filled with blood.

After release of the oocyte it is now technically a Corpus Luteum, but for the first few days (before the blood is resorbed) it is known as a Corpus Hemoragicum.

After the blood is resporbed, it is known simply as a Corpus Luteum.
