OCD has helped in my career as an accountant. I have great attention to detail, extensive ability to focus. I'm pretty good at seeing see relationships between numbers and find patterns in statistics. I can recall facts and figures from several years past. I also keep at a problem until it is solved, often long past others have gone home, and long past my bedtime.... so you can see that
OCD has hindered my career too, but that would be the topic of another post...

Mothers of teenagers with OCD do not hate their children. It can be hard to live with a teenager, especially one with OCD. Sometimes a good talk is just what people need to see eye to eye.

There isn’t really a way to help yourself with ocd, and you have to face that you are going to have it no matter what. ocd is a mental health condition so nobody can really help you if you have it. Some things you can do to help is things like trying not to worry how things are organized and try to ignore out of place things if you can. It’s hard, but you’ll get the hang of it.
