At its core, History is a Social Science.
History, in all of its lessons and interesting stories is fundamentally about people and human nature.
Why do people do the things we do? How can we explain human behavior? Under what circumstances do people take certain actions, and in what circumstances do they take surprising actions?
By examining events where humans have already shown a behavior, we can compare their situations to a modern context and draw conclusions as to what the beneficial outcomes of a given scenario might be, or what the likely outcomes of a future scenario are likely to be.
At the end of the day, it's a Social Science. We look at the past, but we do so to learn about people today.
It depends on which America you are talking about if its South America or North America . . .
North America- North American history is when the British colonist came from England at the time today known as the UK and formed a colony under the rule of King George III of England the colonist quickly realized that King George III of England was not a suitable ruler since the British just got done fighting a war with the French and Indian England was bankrupt so they taxed everything which made the colonist mad and they started the REVOLUTIONARY WAR which was the war against the colonist and the British to start our own nation here in the United States of America.
South America- South American history I do not know a lot about but its mostly about how the Spanish and Portuguesecame over and dominated the land from the Indians that have settled there. That explains the different origins in language.
