Within the nucleus of a cell you will find a sub-nuclear organelle called the . Also found within the nucleus is most of the genetic material (DNA). Enzymes that act on DNA in many processes like replication and transcription are also found within the nucleus. These enzymes are generally referred to as DNA metabolizing enzymes.

One is also expected to see DNA binding proteins. Since the process of transcription occurs within the nucleus, one is also expected to see both mature (processed) and immature (freshly transcribed) mRNA's.

the nucleaus is a membrane-enclosed organelle found in eukaryotic cells. It contains most of the cell's genetic material, organized as multiple long linear DNA molecules in complex with a large variety of protiens, such as histones, to form chromosomes. The function of the nucleus is to maintain the integrity of these genes and to control the activities of the cell by regulating gene expression - the nucleus is therefore the control center of the cell.
