In PET is the Intrinsic Viscosity or the Inherent Viscosity higher?

Intrinsic Viscosity of the PET in question cannot be said to be higher or lower. The intrinsic viscosity of the polymer depends on the degree of condensation achieved in the polycondensation phase of the PET manufacturing process. Since Intrinsic Viscosity(limiting to zeo concentration) is the relative measure of the molecular weight or chain-length of the polymer, one cannot say that molecular weight thus the intrinsic viscosity of PET is higher, this depends on the degree of condensation. Usually the degree of condensation of PET used in fibre manufacture is approx. [n]100. We can manufacture PET to different degrees of condensation for different purposes. Generally, PET has a higher molecular weight than other thermoplastic resins. Melting point of PET is also high approx. 250oC to 290oC

Do compound semiconductors behave as intrinsic semiconductors?

Intrinsic refers to the doping -- intrinsic semiconductors are not doped. Whether compound or not, if they are not doped they are intrinsic.

What is K value in PVC resin?

K Value is an indicator of molecular weight : K-57 is medium for injection molding,K-67 is medium-high for rigid extrusion, K-70 is higher for plasticized extrusion or calendering. K value relates to other ASTM indicators of molecular weight like Intrinsic Viscosity or Inherent Viscosity.

Does soda have a low viscosity?

The viscosity is similar to the viscosity of water.

The resistance of a liquid to flowing?

Viscosity is how much a liquid resists flow. Water has a low viscosity while molasses has a high viscosity.

Why the viscosity of DNA decreases during denaturation?

If native DNA is isolated carefully the sample will consist of long fragments of double stranded DNA. The hydrodynamic behaviour of this molecule resemble a long rod which because is highly asymetric it has a high intrinsic viscosity. As DNA denatures the two strands separate and each single strand is free to adopt different conformations in a form of a random coil. This form has a lower intrinsic viscosity than the double stranded DNA.
