this changes with time. currently average storage of a hard disk is about 250 GB when purchasing a new computer. The highest amount of space I have seen on a new hard drive is 1.5 TB (that's 1024 GB * 1.5) and the smallest I have seen is down to a few MB (1024 MB = 1 GB) but that's for a very very old hard disk.
Drives come in many different capacities.
Storage capacity on a Hard Disk Drive is basically how much space you've used and how much you have free on the hard drive to store information, images, videos, music, etc usually because there isn't an adequate amount of space free on your computer.
There is no particular capacity a hard drive has to begin with before things are stored on them, some come with less or more space available to start with than others, but if you want to check how much space you have available and how much you've used, just go to 'My Computer' then right click the Hard Drive icon and then 'Properties'. The information will pop up straight away under the 'General' tab.
The largest hard drive commercially available today are currently 3 TB. There is no known absolute limit to hard drive size because the technology to create them continues to improve.
Hard-drives are becoming larger as technology advances. Additionally, programming improvements mean that Windows software is able to access much larger drives than its earlier versions could. Hard-drive sizes are now in the Terabyte capacities - whereas just a few years ago, a 128 Gigabyte drive was considered huge !
the capacity is 2.5 GB i think not sure check some where else though.
The maximum storage capacity in an internal hard disk is 2.67 TB. 3TB drives will be released soon and that will then become the maximum storage capacity in an internal hard disk.
3 terabites ( 3 TB)
100(TB)
blah !
The IDE interface is limited to 528 megabytes hard disk capacity
It depends on how much you bought your PC or the hard disk itself. My current hard disk has a capacity of 400 gb.
depends on the computer
The reason is that the technology of the days the floppy disk was not as advanced as of today.
Depends on how big your hard drive is.
10 MB hard disk
capacity type and speed of the hard drive
A hard disk is what all your files, including the Operating System are stored in. There are many sizes of hard disk and what the capacity is.
hard disk
yes, because hard disk capacity range from 10 megabytes while tapes capacity range from few hundred kilobytes to several gigabytes.
A 1 TB disk is twice the capacity of a 500 GB disk. I TB = 1000 GB 500 GB = 0.5 TB
