They are equally important.
At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son.
Easter is when we celebrate His resurrection.
On Good Friday, Christ was crucified, died, and was buried, defeating sin, and rebuilding the bridge between God and man.
On Easter Sunday, He rose and defeated death.
Both Christmas and Easter fulfilled Scripture, occurring as prophesied thousands of years prior.
Another Answer:
Personally, as a Christian, I can say that neither are important. Why? Because Jesus wasn't born on 25th December, and He wasn't resurrected on "Easter Sunday" (which is a different date every year).
I worship God in spirit and truth every day, and do my best to follow Christ Jesus every day, and I don't need any Pagan holiday that has been "Christianized".
Both are undoubtedly important. Since Jesus couldn't have died and risen again if He had not been born as a man, some would say the incarnation is a prerequisite for the resurrection.
However Paul makes it clear that without the fact of the resurrection Christianity would be 'in vain.' Christians serve a living and risen savior, who is now exalted at the right hand of the Father in heaven, not a dead teacher whose body has rotted somewhere.
12Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
The resurrection has possibly been one of the most attacked historical accounts in all of scripture. All kinds of explanations have been promulgated to explain away the fact of the empty tomb and the sudden change in the outlook of the disciples. People simply do not die for a lie they know to be a lie. The disciples saw Jesus die and they saw Him alive three days later. No amount of explaining away can change that fact, nor can it change the fact that, since Jesus is alive , Christians can know Him personally.
Thus Easter, in its real meaning, minus any pagan connotations, especially the bunnies, is absolutely central to the Christian faith.
Easter because that was the day Jesus was crucified and died for our sins.
i should say Christmas is more important because of the meaning of the said holidays. Christmas's spirit is love, giving, family and all that good stuff wherein Easter is remembering the sacrifices of Jesus for us to save us from our sins.Yes. Easter is more important than Christmas because without Easter we would not be able to enter heaven. Easter has always been considered more important than Christmas to Christians (although Christmas is still important)
The Most Important date after Easter and Christmas is Ascension Day.
Christmas and Easter: Christmas celebrates Jesus' birth. Easter celebrates the Resurrection.
It is important to Christians as it is the most important day of the year and most important event in Christianity. The Resurrection is very important. St. Paul said that if Christ is not risen that our faith is in vain. Christ came to rise from the dead, so what he did was more important than his actual arrival, which is what Christmas is. People generally celebrate Christmas more, but Easter is more important.
yes it is and Easter to
