What is neoconfucianism and how did it appeal to many people?
Neo-Confucianism was a combination of the three major
philosophies/religions (Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism) that it
was popular and stood out to many followers. Because Confucianism,
Taoism, and Buddhism were already highly favored among the people,
it was not such a bad idea to combine elements of the three onto
one core.
