Higher RAM (512mb compared to 256), two cameras - front and rear (compared to none), lighter (1.3lb compared to 1.5), thinner (0.88cm compared to 1.26), Uhhhh....much better graphics....many improvements to ui....higher resolution...(I think don't take my word for it), and it is just newer so future upgrades and apps will benefit it more than the iPad 1. I typed this on my iPad 2, by the ways.
