Best Answer

Parallel transmission is a method of transmitting data where each bit in a byte is transmitted in an individual channel or wire, hence multiple bits can be sent at the same time.

Parallel transmission is often used internally in a computer since it is quick and the distances involved are short, as well as in devices such as disk drives, joysticks and a majority of printers. Parallel transmission, however, has the disadvantage of bits getting out or order when transmitted over a long distance. This is known as data skew.

What are the disadvantages and advantages of parallel transmission?

One advantage for parallel transmission is the speed that the data can travel at, while one disadvantage for parallel transmission is the high cost of it

What are the advantages and disadvantages of parallel and serial data transmission?

big advantage of parallel transmission is the factor of speed. All else being equal, parallel transmission can increase the transfer speed by a factor of n over a serial transmission. But there is also a very significant disadvantage of parallel transmission. And that is the factor of cost. It can be proved from the fact that the parallel transmission requires 'n'

What is pg clamps in transmission line?

pg clamp is known for parallel groove clamp, especially used in transmission line to hold transmission conductors in parallel.

What is non parallel power transmission?

Universal coupling

Does the parallel transmission needs multiple communication lines?

Yes. 'Serial' transmission means all bits travel the same channel, one at a time. 'Parallel' transmission means several bits travel several channels, at the same time.

Which communication is faster in parallle and serial?

Parallel data transmission is faster compared to serial data transmission. The speed of a parallel link is equal to the number of bits sent multiplied by the bit rate of each individual path.

As we know parallel transmission is faster then serial then why serial is replacing parallel?

There is a greater risk of errors with parallel transmission because especially over longer distances, the bits may arrive at the destination at different times and therefore corrupting the data. Because serial transmission sends each bit one at a time, they always are received in order. Speed of transmission is not always the driving priority, if the information cannot be reliably transferred to the destination all the speed in the universe is useless.

How many feet is a parallel cable?

Parallel port communication cable length 8 channel is easy to form the mutual interference between the transmission speed and distance are limited, and when the transmission error, at the same time to the eight bits of data, and a serial port without interference, transmission error after it is ok to resend a, so faster than parallel port. Therefore generally parallel communication without transmission distance, serial communication, serial port communication is generally not more than 30 meters, but also the specific see the baud rate of the transmission signal, so the parallel communication estimated only a few meters, there is no exact definition of data.
