Let me share some of it --

1. Before starting your speech, take a deep breath for about 30 seconds. This will increase oxygen supply in your body that will make you relax.

2. When you face your audience, look at them in the eye.

3. Know and believe to what your topic is all about. That would it easier for you to share your message to your audience.

And don't forget to PRACTICE.

after looking them in audience eye, be relax and give a light smile.

after paying thanks to announcer for handing over to speaker, put a niche statemment first with humour ,covering today's whole discussion centre point and just pause.

as if you are authorising/inviting audience to speak/reply.,until you assured that all heads are fixed on you to listen the solution..

but you must..must have fantastic solution in next 30 seconds only and get overwhelmiong thank nods from large.

rest duration of speech is your fine pitch..play as you like with your stuff.

summary: let them develop a demand to listen you next time as early as possible.. be ready with new topics etc

yes PRACTICE

Thanks

Public speaking generally means speaking in front of an audience of more than one. Private speaking probably means a one to one conversation meant fro no-one else's ears. What they meant was that the same dynamics apply in either case and that the best public speakers use the same techniques that we all use when speaking one to one. Things like relating to the listener, behaving as the listeners expect, using a full frontal stance and many more.
