Best Answer

The Iberian Peninsula is most famous for hosting the country of Spain. The Iberian Peninsula is also the only true Muslim conquest of Europe prior to the Ottoman Empire. It is also famous for the Reconquista, where the Spanish kicked out all non-Christians (mainly Muslims), forcing them to either leave or convert, and reestablished Spain as a country (in which case, Portugal was also reestablished).
