I don't think you have a Mauser - the flaming cannon ball is a US Ordnance marking, and both the M1903 Springfield and M1917 bear very close resemblance to the Mauser (both share a lot of their lineage with the Mauser). If it's either of these, it would be chambered in .30-06. However, these are not the only rifles to bear that marking.
