3P0x1B
The U.S. Air force has a AFSC (Air force speciality code) for nearly every job imaginable. The AFSC for our "guards" is 3P0X1 Security Forces. They handle all manner of operations like protecting the border of military bases, patroling bases, security for missions, and yes guarding things like Air craft and buildings.
You will have to re-classify under a new afsc.
Security Forces personnel deploy at least 6 months out of each year on average. I would recommend x-ray technician or another medical AFSC. Medical AFSC's typically deploy later in their careers- if at all- although all Air Force Personnel are subject to deployment of any length, at any time. Cops do deploy a lot, though. And work pretty long hours, even when at home station. Plenty of cops have families, of course, and make family and military lives work. But Security Forces is challenging, for anyone with a family.

This depends on several things including AFSC(Air Force Specialty Code), prior service, education, and length of enlistment. Several AFSC have enlistment bonuses in excess of $25,000 while others have bonuses that are much lower.
EOD
In the Air Force? Absolutely. Pretty often depending on your base.
