cheapest I've ever paid is 50$ , the most people have paid is 500,000$ for say a 1959 Gibson Les Paul because it was the guitar that made the company Gibson famous and really revolutionized the Electric Guitar.

It depends what type of guitar you want. They can range form $60 to $5000 depending where they are made, what materials are used in them and much more. Guitars made in the U.S.A are the most expensive like Gibson. If you are just starting out i recommend getting a guitar pack. It comes with an electric guitar, an amp, tuner, strap, picks and usually a music book. Hope this helps.

50-249$ (american) for a beginner guitar depending on brand or series

250-699$ is an intermediate guitar , not exactly pro but something to upgrade

700$ and up depending on brand or series is a pro guitar

the best guitars in my opinion have

passive pickups (subjective to many)

neckthrough construction

woods used depends on your ears

look for brand name parts like "grover , seymour duncan , schaller , dimarzio" or whatever

for pickups the stuff that usually comes on guitars people argue saying they aren't great especially Ibanez parts but really play the guitar and see the sound you need. Stay away from signature guitar gear too.

the best production guitars I can think of are

the Jackson SL2

bc rich warlock nj deluxe , pretty much perfect out of the box

Dean Barrett Zelinsky - Bird Of Prey

LTD eclipse 500 or 1000 CTM if you're a les paul guy

Schecter makes a lot of affordable guitars as does Agile

stay away from the drunks at Gibson and you'll be fine!

and remember just because you have an amazing guitar you need an amazing amplifier or some effects .

this is almost the same as saying how expensive is a car. the more you pay, generally the better the quality is. that doesnt always apply though. there was this fender that was 30k and had nothing but bad reviews from those who bought it. to answer your question. they can be dirt cheap or you might need to be filthy rich to buy it. but always remember. youll get equal quality to what you pay for it. hope this helps - Kyse

There is no average, electric guitars range from the very cheap to the very expensive, so people tend to look for a guitar within their budget.
