The Midwest/Ohio Valley region includes the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin. The Midwest is fairly cold and dry during January. The further north you go in the Midwest, the colder it gets. There is more moisture in the southeastern part of this region. Moisture comes from the Gulf of Mexico, so you could expect a little more rain and snow. More snow can also be found in areas near the Great Lakes. Highs / Lows Precip. More rain falls during July because of the thunderstorms caused by hot and humid afternoons. The northern part of the region still averages out to be mostly sunny with less humidity.
