Usually trucks over 3/4 ton or 1 ton have to be insured on a commercial policy. The reason for this is that usually these trucks are used commercially but people try to insure them as a personal vehicle because it is cheaper or they think it is cheaper. Most companies will not insure them on a personal policy.
