Techniques used in installation art:

Installation art is when an artist makes an artwork, but its not painted, or a sculpture, its like a video.

This website, is really good and it has heaps and heaps of videos by artists. Its like a profile. there r like 100 artists and some of the descriptions are resume, artwork, profile etc. Each link you click on comes up with its own page. (the artist has made its own page for its info. artwork) You can even search for your own artist.

What is 'Installation art'?

susan Installation art is simply art that utilizes its surroundings. It is art "installed" or "put in" its surroundings or environment and, in that sense, allows its surroundings or environment to interact with it. For ex. if an artist sculpts life-size dolls and arranges them in a park, that is installation art. They have been installed iin the park and the park even has become part of the work. Or if an artist arranges miles and miles worth of blue silk fabric (to imitate waves of water) in a desert or in a museum space, that is installation art. It is put in an environment or space and the surroundings interact with it. There are even examples in which the artist him/herself or other living people can be the installation art themselves. There are many mediums used in installation art, then. From tvs and dolls and other objects to people and more.
