Best Answer

An infection is a disease caused by microorganisms like bacteria, viruses or fungi that has come inside you. Also diseases caused by greater parasites are sometimes called infections.

Most infections are contagious, that is: When you get some of the microbes from another person on you, they can invade you and multiply inside you and make you sick too.

Diseases not caused by organisms that invade you are not called infections.
