What is the difference between a Japanese akita and a shiba inu?

First of all, a Shiba Inu dog is Japanese. A Jin Do dog is THE MOST intelligent dog of all of Korea and is highly, VERY highly respected and honored in Korea and is the most expensive dog in the whole country.

Shiba Inus are way smaller than Jin Dos and Jin Dos need more excercise. Jin Dos are GENERALLY more smarter than shibas (not meaning that shibas aren't smart, they are). Also, Jin Dos are highly loyal to their owners and they will refuse to listen to anyone but their owner. If you try to give away a Jin do, he will refuse to listen to the new owner.

Jin Dos are more wolfish while Shibas look less wild and wolfish.

well the akita is alot bigger than the shiba and it sheds alot more than the shiba and it needs to be tended to more grooming than the shiba. if buying one of these, i recommend you buy a shiba inu and if you have children, a shiba is better and only sheds a little, and is a smaller dog.

The Akita Inu is generally smaller than the Japanese Akita. They both look the same in every way except height :)
