Morality is by definition "A system of ideas of right and wrong conduct".

So really morality can by definition be based off of one mans opinions

of what is right and what is wrong while Christian Morality is based on

God;s standard (The Bible) of what is right and what is wrong.

In reality, morality has nothing to do with Christianity or any other religious faith. Religious faith claims morality in order to gain credibility, and persuade people to do things they wouldn't do for "just some dude in a costume, in some building with a cross shape attached to it".

Morality is a powerful force in human life, which is used as reasoning for almost everything we do. ("The war was fought for freedom", "I hit you because you needed to understand") But the problem of where morality comes from has plagued Philosophers for centuries.

I included a Related Link below of one Philosopher's crack at the problem. It is the best I've come acrossso far.

Morality can be catagorized into many different groups. Some believe morality is based off of emotions. Others believe that morality is based off of whether one's action creates more pleasure than pain to the population in general. Christian morality, by the definition of most philosophers, is based off of the belief of a supreme God Who determines what is moral and what is not.

The difference can create controversies. For example, while Christian morals point more toward a society that shouldn't allow the use of marijuana, utilitarians argue otherwise because the pleasures outweigh the pains of its use.

"Morality" is far too general a term to have any real meaning. For example, 'Relative Morality' is no morality at all, as virtually anything can be rationalized by the human mind. 'Christian Morality' is a particular kind of morality based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. While people may or may not adhere to it as they should, it DOES provide a consistent baseline by which to judge ones actions.

Christians cite the Bible as their moral guide, although there is little in the Bible that really provides practical, day-to-day advice on resolving ethical problems. Ultimately, Christian morality is based on the concept of reward and punishment. If I behave morally, I have the chance of eternal life, but if I fail then I am doomed to hell. But Julian Baggini (Atheism) says that it is an odd morality that thinks one can only behave ethically if one does so out of fear of punishment or promise of reward. He says the person who does not steal only for fear of being caught is not a moral person, but merely a prudent one.

The truly moral person is the one who has the opportunity to steal without being caught but still does not do so. Many Christians are truly moral persons by this definition, but so too are many atheists.

Christian morality is simply the imposition of a set of principles of altruism and logical behaviour imposed on believers in Christianity to act like any normal person would act without being told

Roman Catholic AnswerNo difference, Catholic and Christian is the same thing. Protestants have removed a number of books from the Old Testament as they were uncomfortable with not believing things that the Bible said, so they changed the Bible.
