The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has estimated that, as of 2/12/10, since the beginning of the pandemic in April 2009, the US has had approximately 57 million cases of A-H1N1/09 Pandemic Swine Flu and approximately 11,690 resulting deaths.

Ongoing counts of cases have been discontinued by CDC, WHO and most states now. The numbers given include estimates based on counts in small communities, but even those numbers are not able to be considered exact. Since everyone who gets the flu does not seek medical attention or report their illness, they are not included in the counts. Also, everyone who has the flu is not tested to determine if the flu they have is swine flu or not. Therefore, the exact number is impossible to say.
