If felt the feet will feel warm to the touch especially around the coronary band 'the part of the hoof where the hair begins'. He may refuse to eat or eat less than he normally does. You may notice that he is laying down a lot more or he may lay down and get back up again several times. If the horse is any of these behaviors call your vet ASAP. If caught soon enough the horse can be helped but it must be treated by a vet.
