The spinal cord which is a tube,the nerves.First the brain send a message,the spinal cord gets it,they past it along to the nerves and the nerves give the message to the part of your body,THEY ALL DO IT LESS THAN A SECOND!!!!

The nervous system provides the framework for communication, sensations, thoughts, emotions, and memories in the body. The signals are transmitted to and from the brain in the central nervous system.

It is referred to as a "system" because it consists of many organs working together. In addition, it has layers of increasing complexity. The nervous system controls what the organism does; it is in charge. The mind (for those species intelligent enough to have minds) is generated by the nervous system.
