I HAVE A '95 S. DEPENDING ON DRIVING STYLE, COLD-WEATHER WARM-UP,ACCELERATING TECHNIQUES, INTERSTATE/CITY DRIVING, ENGINE CONDITION AND TUNING, INDIVIDUAL MPG WILL VARY SIGNIFICANTLY. I LIVE IN BOONE, Iowa. THE TEMPS HERE RECENTLY HAVE BEEN DOWN TO 0*. I HAVE HAD SOME WARM-UPS BUT, I TRY TO AVOID THEM. MY GALANT HAS 174,000+ MILES AND I KEEP IT IN TOP SHAPE AND TUNED.
THE WORST MPG: 461.7 MILES WITH (2) 2-GALLON "GAS-UPS" @ $2.69/GAL AND 13.8 GAL'S @ $2.54 FOR 25.94 MPG. MY BEST MPG: (3 TIMES) 20.5 MILES; .398, .382, .405 GALS FOR 51.2 MPG. MY NORMAL RANGE IS 31-35MPG-MOSTLY INTERSTATE MILES.
ENGINE CONDITION AND TUNING ARE PARAMOUNT FOR "GOOD" MILEAGE. CHANGE THE OIL REGULARLY (ONCE/YR.) AND CHECK IT @ EVERY FILL-UP. STAY ON TOP OF SENSOR PROBLEMS ("CHECK ENGINE"). I REPLACE THE O-2 SENSORS EVERY 2 YRS.

A 1995 Mitsubishi Gallant will experience backfiring if the ignition timing is set incorrectly. This results in the fuel and air mixture being burned when valves are still open.
on my '95 galant, the fuse block is under the dash to the left in the driver's compartment just forward of the kick panel. it has a snap-off plastic cover.
I'm not positive but, i don't think the '95 galant or other yrs. have a "pump relay switch". they do have a pressure regulator and a relief valve. i would check your local dodge or Mitsubishi dealer and ask them.
