Best Answer

Fuel injected engines have a valve on the intake manifold designed to allow air to by pass the throttle plates. Its puprose is to adjust the amount of air allowed in the engine at idle to maintaine the idle speed desired by the vehicle computer. Many of these fail because of dirt and goo from recycled crank case vapor. If the electric portion is still ok they can be cleaned and fucntion as new. Keeping your air filter and oil changed reduces maintenance and or replacement of this valve.
