What is the importance of the right to strike?
Without this ability workers don't have leverage nor due process. Before the 40 hour work week, lunch breaks and breaks on the job, overtime, and other rights given to workers a company could demand that a worker work 10, 12- 14 hours without breaks or dinner. Working conditions were set by the employer and if the employee didn't like it they would loose their job. In 1886 7 people died getting these rights for workers. Working conditions were awful for workers before unions. There were cases ( a shirt factory) where workers were locked into their place of work, not allowed to go to bathroom, and treated without regard. Unions and the right to strike have given workers a voice in how they are to be treated, evaluated, and fired. Without these rights workers will step back a 100 years into the time where they had no voice.

It was important because before the strike there was no such thing as a minimum wage and people were getting paid very little and couldn't afford anything. If someone complain…ed they would just fire the person and hire someone else. Because of the strike people have to be paid fairly and many workplaces have benefits because of it.
Yes teachers do have the right to go on strike.
Striking is important because it helps you with other sports and activities.
so you either get in or out :)
It is not. No individual employee can withdraw his/her labor from the employer and NOT suffer discharge. Only if the employee joins a bargaining unit certified by NLRB as the… employee's bargaining agent can the employee PARTICIPATE in a strike called by the union. The individual gained no personal right to strike. Unions usually surrender their lawful riught to strike in exchange for pay, benefits, and working condition concessions from the employer in a contract. Waiving the right to strike is nearly all the union has to bargain with. If a union strikes for economic reasons, strikers can be permanently replaced. If a union strikes for what NLRB determines to be unfair labor practices, the strikers can be temporarily replaced until the strike ends.
so everyone is equal and not treated differntly against others also to get a good oppurtionities of life and a good living this will help future without them we wouldn't be …liberated or free. .
When people go to work for a big company, they have much less power than their employer, who in many cases can easily replace them, and this has in the past resulted in terrib…le abuse of employees who had little way to protect themselves. The creation of labor unions, and the ability of those unions to go on strike if they find it necessary, has helped to give employees more power so that they deal with employers as equals, and get fair treatment.
