You HAVE to watch the films, they are amazing.

The Lion King

The first film is about a lion cub named Simba, born to Mufasa and Sarabi. Mufasa is the leader of his pride, and they live at a place called Pride Rock. The pride are friendly with a baboon named Rafiki, who christens each cub born to the Pridelanders. Simba has a jealous old uncle named Scar who felt he should be next in line for the throne. But because Simba was born, that moved him into second place. Furious, he knows he will already be dead by the time he can be leader. He always wanted power. He devises a cunning plan to get rid of Simba. Simba had been told never to go in "that shadowy place" beyond the borders of the Pridelands. When he questions Scar, he lets it slip that the place is an elephant graveyard. He knows Simba will go there with his best friend Nala, so he orders his hyena friends Shenzi, Banzai and Ed to kill them. Simba and Nala head off to the graveyard after giving their babysitter, and Mufasa's advisor Zazu, the slip. Scar's plan fails when Zazu informs Mufasa about the hyenas. Simba is in deep trouble and gets a telling off. His father then tells him about how in the sky, all the great kings of the past are there. Scar makes another plan- a much more dangerous and evil one. He gets Simba to sit in the canyon. He then makes his hyenas chase a large herd of wildebeest into the canyon to put Simba in peril. Scar then tells Mufasa that Simba is in the canyon with the stampede. Of course, Mufasa heads down to save his cub. Throwing Simba to safety, Mufasa clambers up the gorge to Scar, pleading "Help me brother!" Scar digs his claws deep into Mufasa's paws and whispers "Long live the king." before letting Mufasa fall to his death beneath the feet of the stampede. When it is over, Simba heads down to find his dad, who he had seen fall. Distraught, Simba tries to wake him. He curls up and cries when he can't. Scar tells Simba to run away so that his mother won't think badly of him, after convincing the cub that Mufasa's death was all his fault. Scar sends the hyenas to kill him, who decide to leave him to die of thirst in the desert. However... he is found by Timon the meerkat and Pumbaa the warthog. They take him to an oasis and wake him up after he collapsed in the desert. They take him back to their jungle home and cheer him up after he was so miserable, telling them he didn't want to talk about his past. Timon tells him to forget the past. They raise him, and Simba grows up learning to live on their motto- "hakuna matata" which means no worries. His life is carefree. But then Simba's old friend Nala finds him after she strayed from the Pridelands to hunt. They spend the day catching up and Simba realises he loves her. She tries to convince him to come home and take the kingdom from Scar who has ruled so badly over the couple of years that Simba had been gone (after telling the pride that both Simba and Mufasa had died in a freak accident and introduced his many many hyenas to the pride) that all food had left the Pridelands and there was barely enough water to keep them alive. Simba refused to tell her what he had went through, still believing his father's death was his fault. He runs away from an angry Nala. But he ends up meeting Rafiki who had discovered he was alive in his Magic Tree. Simba has no idea who Rafiki is and tries to walk away from him. But Rafiki shows Simba his father is still around. He takes Simba to a pool and Simba is disappointed when he only sees his reflection. Rafiki tells him to look harder and Simba sees the spirit of his father. He talk to him. Simba returns to the Pridelands and his friends Nala, Timon and Pumbaa follow. Scar tries to tell everyone that Simba killed Mufasa. Scar then battles Simba, and has him hanging off the edge of Pride Rock after a lightning bolt sets fire to the dry land below. Just before Scar pushes Simba to his death, he whispers that he killed Mufasa. Simba's fury causes an adrenaline rush and he jumps up and forces Scar to tell the truth. He then throws Scar off the edge of Pride Rock and the hyenas eat him and leave. Mufasa sends rain to put out the fire and Simba roars, reclaiming his place as king. His friends Timon and Pumbaa become part of the pride. He takes Nala as his queen and the film ends with Rafiki holding up their newborn cub, Kopa.

The Lion King 2

Simba's Pride

This film starts similar to the first, with all the animals making their way to Pride Rock to view the new cub- Kiara. (The story goes that Simba and Nala had Kopa, who was killed by Scar's mate Zira to avenge him and Zira was banished with her cubs Nuka and Vitani because of her extreme loyalty to Scar. She then rounded up some lionesses that were also banished to form her own pride, a pride committed to avenging Scar. Scar hand picked an orphan cub, Kovu, to follow in his footsteps before his death.) A proud Mufasa looks down on Kiara's ceremony. A few months later, Kiara has grown into an adventurous young cub and is eager to explore. But Simba is cautious in case she gets into the same trouble that he did as a cub. He never lets her go anywhere he hasn't approved and lays out strict rules for her to follow. When she goes off to play, Nala reminds Simba that she is just like he was when he was young and insists she'll be fine. Meanwhile, Kiara chases a butterfly and suddenly sees the Outlands in the distance. Timon and Pumbaa pounce on her after being asked by Simba to keep an eye on her. The two start an argument however and Kiara sneaks away to the Outlands. She runs into another cub, also out on his own- Kovu. He teases her for being "daddy's little girl" and steps onto a log in the lake. She follows and they soon realise it's a crocodile. They run and jump onto what they think are some rocks but they turn out to be more crocodiles. They work together to escape and once on the other side, they are back on Prideland territory. Kiara tries to teach Kovu how to play and that's when Zira appears, having watched them playfight. Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumbaa and the pride appears too and they argue. Zira tries to make Simba get revenge by killing Kovu but she knows he is too softhearted to kill the cub. He orders them to get out and she leaves. Simba and family do too, and the two cubs whisper a sorrowful goodbye. Simba tells Kiara he could have lost her and sings to her that they are "one." She didn't understand but Simba told her she would someday. Meanwhile, Zira arrives home, furious with Nuka for not watching Kovu. Kovu sticks up for his brother. Zira suddenly hatches an evil plan- if Kovu gets to Kiara and earns Simba's trust, he can kill Simba. She puts her son to bed, warning him that in the morning, his "training intensifies." By the time Kiara is 18 months, she is ready for her first solo hunt. She makes Simba promise to let her do it on her, strictly no supervision. He promised, but as soon as she left he told Timon and Pumbaa to make sure she didn't get into trouble. When Kiara finds the two of them, she is furious that her father didn't trust her to complete the task. She strays further from home to continue her hunt alone, to no avail. Meanwhile, Zira's plan is in motion. She sent out Vitani and Nuka to set fire to the area around Kiara. Her plan was that Kovu saves her from the 'freak' fire and earns Simba's trust after saving his daughter's life. Then when the time was right, he'd kill him. He was raised with such hate that he didn't know any different, so he obeyed, brainwashed. He saved Kiara after she passed out from the smoke fumes. Zazu saw him rescue her and informed Simba and the pride. Kiara awoke and she recognised him after yelling at him angrily for interfering with her task. The family arrives and Simba tries to banish Kovu but Nala tells him off, saying he owes Kovu his daughter's life. Simba lets Kovu stay temporarily to see "who he really is." Kovu feels smug, and although he has to sleep outside of the den, he makes arrangments with Kiara to teach her to hunt in the morning. That night Simba has a nightmare that Scar is holding him at the edge of a cliff, the way he held his father. Except when the lion looked up, Simba realised it was Kovu and he let go. Simba awoke, sweating and panicked. In the morning, he was getting a drink. Kovu contemplated attacking him now but Kiara dragged him away for her lesson. He taught her to be quiet and then gave her a demonstration. They found Timon and Pumbaa who were chasing birds and trying to get breakfast. Then Kiara and the two taught Kovu how to have fun, something he had never experienced. After a run-in with some Rhinos, Kiara and Kovu almost kiss. Timon and Pumbaa leave and the lions lay in the grass and watch the stars, as night has fallen. Kovu realises he likes Kiara. He talks to her about how Scar was never his father but he was still a part of him. Kiara said that her father had told her there was a darkness in Scar that he couldn't escape and eventually it overcame him. Kovu confessed, "Maybe there's a darkness in me too." Simba is at the top of the hill, asking his father for advice. Nala appears and tells him he should get to know Kovu, considering that they could see their daughter and him getting close at the foot of the hill. They leave and Kovu tries to tell Kiara his real intentions for being there. He gives up and also tries to leave. Rafiki appears and stops him. The baboon disappears, and Kiara tells a confused Kovu that he's a "friend of the family." Rafiki appears again and gets them to follow, showing them "upendi"- love. Kovu falls in love with Kiara and they return him, singing the words to the song Rafiki taught them. Simba invites Kovu into the den. Vitani, watching from a distance, tells Zira that Kovu failed to kill Simba when he had the chance. Zira decided to take matters into her own hands... In the morning, Simba took Kovu out to tell him the real story of Scar. Kiara was pleased to see them bonding. When out alone with Kovu, who had decided to try and tell Kiara about why he was really here and he had decided against it because of his love for her, Simba was ambushed by Zira and the Outlanders. He got away but Nuka was killed in an attempt to chase him up a loose log wall blocking the river. Zira lashed out at Kovu, blaming him for his brother's death. Kovu got a deep cut over his eye, just like Scar. He ran away, upset at Nuka's death and what had happened with Simba. Zira said they would attack tonight, while Simba was injured. Meanwhile, Simba returns home, telling Kiara and Timon and Pumbaa of the ambush. He wrongfully thought it was Kovu's doing. Kovu returned and everyone was against him besides Kiara. Simba passed his judgment and exiled him. He ran away, seeing Scar in his reflection in the water. Kiara was told she could never see him again and was confined to Pride Rock. Simba told her that Kovu was following in his father's pawprints, and that he must follow in his. A tearful Kiara tells Simba that he "will never be Mufasa!" and runs into the furthest hidden corner of the den. She squeezes out after pushing past a loose boulder and sets out to find Kovu. She cannot seem to locate him. She sings Love Will Find A Way and when she finds the burnt lands where she was almost killed, Kovu is there. He joins in her song and they hug, overjoyed to have found each other. They see their reflection in the water and Kovu looks at it as they are entwined and says, "Hey! We're one!" And that's when Kiara understands what her father meant when he sang to her all that time ago... Kovu thinks they should leave and starts a pride of their own (with a sexy, horny gleam in his eye...) but Kiara laughs and says they have to back to bring their families together, as one. But they would have to hurry... Zira and pride were in their way to Pride Rock. They arrived, and the battle between the two lion families was brutal. Simba and Zira encircled each other, set to fight to the death. But Kiara and Kovu leap out of nowhere and Kiara tells her father enough is even and she tells him that she understood what "we are one" meant. She said that Zira's pride was just like them. There were no differences. They were the same. Zira's lionesses understood. Vitani took Kiara's side, saying to Zira enough was enough. Zira threatened her daughter and the rest of her lionesses moved over to stand with Simba's pride. Zira was unwilling to give up on Scar and threw herself at Simba in a surprise attack. Kiara jumped in front of her father and she and Kiara tumbled down a cliff face. Kiara landed on a rock but Zira was left hanging over the edge. Nala screamed that the storm-swollen river was bursting through the log wall and that their daughter was in danger. Simba made his way down the cliff to get her. Zira was meanwhile slipping. Kiara offered her help, desperatly trying to grab Zira and pull her to safety. Zira swiped Kiara furiously, determined not to take her paw. Kiara promised to help her but still Zira refused. Then she slipped and in that last moment seemed to realise her mistake. She fell into the torrent and was swept away in the rushing river. Kovu hung his head. His mother was gone. Simba reached Kiara, who tearfully said "I tried, Daddy." Then there was a ceremony at the coming together of two prides and the acceptance of the Future Queen's lover. They had a roar at the triumph of overcoming differences. Mufasa praised his son and his former pride for their work.

The Lion King 3

Hakuna Matata

The is basically a Disney parody of their own movies- it is Timon and Pumbaa's story of how they were always Behind the Scenes. It has Timon and Pumbaa's jokey commentary. It starts off with Timon never being able to get to grips with why his meerkat family lives underground and enjoy digging. He accidentally destroyed the den and his family are furious. His ma talks to him about finding who he really is. Since he liked the outdoors, she had Uncle Max teach Timon about sentry duty. However Timon gets distracted and ends up singing whilst familiar hyenas - Shenzi, Banzai and Ed - approch the family. Uncle Max is injured and everyone stops trusting Timon. He sits alone by a tree outside. Ma tries to cheer him up but Timon is insistant that no-one even likes him here. He leaves, much to his mother's dismay, to find his place in the world. He walks 'til dark, and gets lost. Rafiki appears, and tells him to "look beyond what you see." This is a phrase that is not meant to be taken literally but Timon takes it that way, of course. He looks beyond the things that he sees near him and spots Pride Rock in the distance. He sets off to find it and runs into Pumbaa who tells Timon he is kind of a loner. They make their way to the "big pointy rock" in Timon's words together. When they get there, it's surrounded by animals. They see the baboon at the edge, holding up Simba. Timon and Pumbaa cut through the crowd of animals and Pumbaa farts and knocks out a few animals for a minute or two. He confesses to Timon that he doesn't do so well in crowds and that THAT is the consequence... Timon looks beyond the rock and sees a little cave with a pond and a tree and some grass; perfect! They make their way there and Timon tells Pumbaa he can stay after feeling sorry for him. They stay there for a couple of months just doing pretty much nothing. Until one morning they are rudely awoken by Simba and Nala singing and parading around with some animals singing I Just Can't Wait To Be King. Pumbaa thinks they should say hello but Timon is annoyed and knocks the animals over. After getting squashed by them, he decides they should leave. He visits other places- such as the hyena cave when Scar is singing Be Prepared. The twosome also visit the canyon when the stampede occurs. They run and fall off a cliff into a river. Timon thinks they're safe- until they fall down a waterfall. They emerge, coughing and spluttering. Timon announces that he gives up looking for his place in the world. He tells Pumbaa to go home too, and he says he can't. Timon realises that no-one wants him and confesses that he's all alone in the world too. He then says, "Pumbaa, you're the only friend I've ever had." Cue emotional moment. They fall asleep on the shore and the next morning, Pumbaa realises they are in the jungle where Pumbaa had spent time before. Timon announces it is perfect and whilst Pumbaa is cooking up a meal, he tries to remember what the baboon had told him. He suddenly remembers- HAKUNA MATATA! And he and Pumbaa start a singalong. Meanwhile, Rafiki finds Ma and tells her that he told Timon to look beyond what he sees and he would find hakuna matata. Ma whacks Rafiki with his staff and tells him that Timon takes things literally. She gets Uncle Max and they set out to look for Timon, convinced he's starving to death. A few days later, Timon and Pumbaa chase some vultures that were lurking in the desert area outside their jungle home. They find that they had been about to eat a lion cub that had passed out in the heat. They begin their adventure at parenthood. This gives us an insight to how they raised Simba as a cub. It shows us how Simba was fairly adventurous and often got himself into trouble. Timon was the one who always tried to solve the situation and got hurt himself, whilst Pumbaa sorted it all out. After Simba wakes up at night to pee and get drinks all the time, Timon becomes a bit crazed. Simba wakes again and tells them he'd had a bad dream. He sleeps in Timon and Pumbaa's bed that night and every night after that. It skips a few months and shows adolescent Simba and Timon having a bug-eating contest- a usual occurence, with Pumbaa as the ref. They have their first ever Snail-Slurping Contest, and Simba wins by one snail. As usual. Timon and Pumbaa watch as Simba walks away. They feel sad that he is no longer a tiny playful fluffy cub. Fastforwarding again, Simba is now about two years old. He has a totally carefree life with his best friends. He never gave a second thought to what it was like back in the Pridelands. That was, until... Nala showed up, hunting. She had to stray far from home to hunt because there was no food left under Scar's rule, and Sarabi, head of the hunting party, could not locate food elsewhere. She and Simba engage in battle but then they recognise each other and the joyous reunion begins. Pumbaa thinks it is romantic- could already predict their love. Timon, however, is furious. He knew that if Simba got together with her, their carefree guy time would be over forever. He and Pumbaa began to do everything they could to stop them 'feeling the love tonight.' Timon tried everything- throwing a beehive, lowering a poisonous spider onto them, shooting splinters at Nala and tripping them up but everything backfired. Timon was upset that Simba was being taken away. Then he and Pumbaa saw them have their argument and Simba ran away (and finds Rafiki). Then, the next morning, Rafiki informs them that Simba had went home. Nala was gleeful to hear this, but the boys weren't so happy. Nala tells them of the story. They don't listen. So she tells it again. And again. And again. Eventually they get it. But Nala gets frustrated and runs away to catch up with Simba. Pumbaa thinks they should help their friend but Timon is reluctant to leave this perfect life just because Simba abandonned them. Pumbaa leaves sadly without him and Timon tries to enjoy himself- but he missed his friends. Rafiki appeared to give him a little pep talk but Timon butts in and says it al for him; therefore realising on his own what his mistake was- his friends had left and his "hakuna matata went with them." Rafiki annouces that his work with Timon was done and Timon sets off to find Simba. He runs into Pumbaa and another emotional moment takes place. They catch up with Simba and Nala, and divert the hyenas so that Simba can get to Scar. Timon and Pumbaa find Ma and Uncle Max and Ma is relieved to see Timon looking so well. Timon introduces everyone and get his Ma and Max to help him trap the hyenas. They dug a hole for the hyenas to fall in but Timon and Pumbaa had to divert them until the hole was ready. They tried dancing and spinning plates. Then Timon proposed to Shenzi (full name Shenzi-Marie Predatora Veldetta Jacquelina Hyena... God knows how Timon knew that) and there is some banter about that, whilst Pumbaa looks on, the look of 'say whuuut?!' on his face. Eventually the trap is ready but it falters and the hyenas advance, set to kill them. Timon leaps to the rescue and the hyenas fall to the foot of Pride Rock, where they eat Scar. Timon and his ma share a special moment, and then she looks on happily when Uncle Max hugs Timon tightly. They all watch as Simba reclaims his kingdom, roaring in the rain. Timon tells his ma how he found a place that was amazing and predator free. He led his whole meerkat clan there and they decided to live there forever. Being Simba's best friends, Timon and Pumbaa would be living at Pride Rock- but they and the lion pride had little holidays there from time to time.

NOTE: The Lion King 3 is also known as the Lion King 1 & a half. But I think that's silly because it begins before Simba is born or begins his adventure so it's more like the Lion King -1. Anyway, just call it Lion King 3. Saves confusion.

Thanks for reading my wall, well more like Great Wall of China, of text. :D
